今天考英文複習卷，發現有學生大喇喇拿著一張紙在背
走過去一看，原來是國文默書
「老師，你英文段考第二天才考，我們國文多殘忍要背這麼多
你看這第一首這麼長，怎麼背啊！」

我一看，是柳永的雨霖鈴
還好嘛，哪有多長，我大概十分鐘就可以背起來
當下就把那張紙拿到講台前
想要下課背起來嗆一下學生
結果那位學生一下課就跑得不見人影
倒是導師國文老師中午來班上
當場背給她聽，國文老師笑得合不攏嘴
對著在場吃便當的同學說：
「我就說嘛，那有難背，英文老師不是一下就背起來了！」

哈哈，不然我還可以稱為「詩聖」的弟弟「詩賢」嗎？
想當年，小學五年級的時候
老師心血來潮要我們背兩首唐詩
那是我第一次與詩詞的接觸
只覺得有一種非常特殊的感覺和味道
所以兩首背完，又背了兩首
五首、十首、二十首、五十首……
常常下課不出去玩，就坐在位子上背唐詩

我背的那一本「唐詩三百首」，我還記得是紫色的封面
詩當然都有注音，還有註譯和翻譯
我每背一首，就在內頁空白處劃一筆「正」字
就這樣，在小學畢業前，背了一百七、八十首
(本來的目標是三百首都背起來)
五言絕句、七言絕句自然都背完了
律詩也背得差不多了
但我也不是光背短的喔

「長恨歌」這首超長的詩當然是我第一個挑戰的
再來就是「琵琶行」，接著是「蜀道難」
然後是一些中篇的如「月下獨酌」
「宣州謝朓樓餞別校書叔雲」「贈衛八處士」
總之，只要是我念起來有感覺的
我就會去背它
然後沒事走在路上就會一直吟誦
風花雪月一番

至於上國中為什麼就漸漸沒再背了呢？
一來是因為正式從注音書轉到國字書，可以看的書太多了
以前國小圖書館幾乎每一本書我都看過了
國中圖書館就不一樣了，我就先從當時大部頭的「諾貝爾文學獎全集」開始看
又讀了一些九歌還是爾雅出的當代散文選
然後不小心看到金庸、古龍、臥龍生、諸葛青雲、司馬翎……(這真是一條不歸路啊)
唐詩三百首實在魅力不敵啊！

雖然如此，國文，尤其是古文，還是我的最愛
偶爾上到喜歡的，如「桃花源記」「岳陽樓記」之類的
還是會順便把它背起來
那時候最喜歡的課本，就是「中國文化基本教材」(裡頭都是四書的節錄)
老師才上第一課，我已經自己看完半本了
等到學期末，那本課本大概已經來回看了十幾遍了

所以，同學啊，要背東西就趁年輕時吧
年紀越大，心越分散，越不單純，時間也越破碎零散
背起來既辛苦，又容易忘

要是你們年輕背東西就輸我這個大叔，老了要怎麼辦？
(哈，說到底還是要嗆一下才過癮)
不過說真的，在背詩詞的那當下
真的有回到小學時代的感覺
年幼時刻下的痕跡，竟是如此地深呀！

犬父有虎子

兒子參加全年級的說故事比賽，竟然得了第三名！
果然和老爸一點都不相同

我小時候可是害羞到幫媽媽買剪刀
都不敢開口問文具行老闆放在哪裡
在店裡默默繞一圈，就摸摸鼻子跑回家
(唉，被媽媽罵也是理所當然)

媽媽特別拜託小學老師說話課一定要點我起來說話
當然我也非常配合地呆站，和老師大眼瞪小眼
最後老師嘆了一口氣，說：「我輸了，你坐下吧！」(我的解讀)

這樣害羞的父親，竟然生出這麼愛講話的兒子
實在不可思議
不過，天下無奇不有
就像沒人料到有一天，我竟會靠著站講台吃飯……
